It is an assessment tool. It tells you more about your behavioural preferences and what that implies in a context of teamwork, interpersonal communication, or productivity in the\u00a0workplace. People are not just one behaviour, or one way of doing, they are flexible and so are you.<\/p>\n<p><strong>DiSC<\/strong> is about everything but judging or labelling people, instead it is about understanding them and their interactions. Individuals, or teams are more effective when they understand where differences come from, and build bridges to make the workplace better. This can come from difference in perception, or values. In both cases you might witness disagreement, if not withdrawal from the discussion, which is less effective, since we need our colleagues and their help. We need theirs and they need ours. By missing the point, we might struggle making progress in our interactions and sometimes even end up holding grudges.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"et_pb_icon_1 et_pb_icon et_pb_module et_block_module\"><span class=\"et_pb_icon_wrap\"><span class=\"et-pb-icon\">\uf0eb<\/span><\/span><\/div><div class=\"et_pb_text_3 et_pb_text et_pb_bg_layout_light et_pb_module et_block_module\"><div class=\"et_pb_text_inner\"><h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span>The\u00a0<\/span>solution: <span>solving interpersonal challenges<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"et_pb_text_4 et_pb_text et_pb_bg_layout_light et_pb_module et_block_module\"><div class=\"et_pb_text_inner\"><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">With DiSC\u00ae we have a tool that helps adopting common language and non threatening words to put forward our point of view. When people know where our ideas come from and how they were formed, divergence is easier to avoid and improving understanding as well as working relationships can occur. He never created a psychological instrument to measure his model. He did write the DiSC personality theoretical model, the assessment was created by others later. Because of this perception, they tend to exert effort to change their circumstances.<\/p>\n<p data-css=\"tve-u-167fec606eb\">Conversely, people with styles that fall toward the bottom of the circle tend to be more<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong>moderate paced<\/strong><span>\u00a0<\/span>and are often described as<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong>calm<\/strong>,<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong>methodical<\/strong>, and<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong>careful<\/strong>. Traditionally, these people are thought to perceive themselves as less powerful than the environment, and thus they are more inclined to adapt to existing circumstances.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"et_pb_divider_2 et_pb_divider et_pb_space et_pb_divider_position_top et_pb_module\"><div class=\"et_pb_divider_internal\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"et_pb_row_6 et_pb_row et_block_row\"><div class=\"et_pb_column_8 et_pb_column et_pb_column_4_4 et-last-child et_block_column et_pb_css_mix_blend_mode_passthrough\"><div class=\"et_pb_text_10 et_pb_text et_pb_bg_layout_light et_pb_module et_block_module\"><div class=\"et_pb_text_inner\"><h3 data-css=\"tve-u-176aa8350bb\"><strong>The horizontal dimension: Level of Acceptance<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The second step of DiSC personality theory brings us to the horizontal dimension. It runs from<strong>questioning <\/strong>to <strong>accepting<\/strong>. In other words, they instinctively withhold <strong>trust <\/strong>from people and ideas until those outside elements can be thoroughly vetted.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, people with styles on the right side of the circle are naturally more <strong>receptive <\/strong>in nature and are often described as <strong>people-focused<\/strong>, <strong>empathizing<\/strong>, and <strong>agreeable<\/strong>. Traditionally, they are said to see the environment as being aligned with their interests. In essence, they are biased to see the <strong>people <\/strong>and <strong>ideas <\/strong>around them as favorable and are thus inclined to <strong>trust <\/strong>them.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"et_pb_row_7 et_pb_row et_block_row\"><div class=\"et_pb_column_9 et_pb_column et_pb_column_4_4 et-last-child et_block_column et_pb_css_mix_blend_mode_passthrough\"><div class=\"et_pb_divider_3 et_pb_divider et_pb_space et_pb_divider_position_top et_pb_module\"><div class=\"et_pb_divider_internal\"><\/div><\/div><div class=\"et_pb_text_12 et_pb_text et_pb_bg_layout_light et_pb_module et_block_module\"><div class=\"et_pb_text_inner\"><h3 data-css=\"tve-u-176aa88e60e\"><strong>stretching your mind with DiSC<\/strong><\/h3>\n<div class=\"thrv_wrapper thrv_text_element\">\n<div class=\"thrv_wrapper thrv_text_element\">\n<p data-css=\"tve-u-167fecb36b9\">When going from DiSC theory to practice, you discover the notion of \u201cstretch\u201d. The DiSC circle is continuous. At times, however, this person may be called on to mingle with strangers at a professional function. S\/he is being asked to stretch across the circle toward the i style. If your preference towards the C style comes from a dot close to the center of the circle, you will probably find this mingling distasteful, but manageable. Someone with a C style and a dot located on the edge of the circle is more likely to find this mingling highly stressful.<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"color: #333333; font-size: 18px;\">How does your dot relate to stretch in DiSC?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As a general rule, people with dots located close to the center usually find it easier to adopt \u201cforeign\u201d DiSC styles when the situation calls for it.
